Description of Westcliffe Publishers Colorado Hut to Hut Vol. 1 Northern and Central Regions
Brian Litz, photographer and explorer of Colorado's backcountry for over 20 years, has written the definitive guidebooks for backcountry enthusiasts. The essential guides for backcountry skiers, these books detail the most extensive hut system in North America, including the 10th Mountain Division Trail, and offers trail information, equipment considerations, and safety tips for hut-to-hut travel.
Brian Litz's mountain travels began with family ski trips. He has been a confirmed hut (and backcountry skiing) addict since his first hut trip to the Markley and Tagert huts with the Denver Junior Group of the Colorado Mountain Club in 1976. A University of Colorado graduate, Litz is managing editor and founding partner of Backcountry Magazine. A freelance photographer and writer, Litz is a member of the North American Ski Journalists Association. He is president of the Backcountry Skier's Alliance and has worked for the Colorado Outward Bound School as a mountaineering instructor.
