i bought these same boots in the 05-06 season and they were the best ever. unfortunately, they were so packed out by this season that i had to replace them with this year's model. i've ridden them about 10-12x now, and it's NO good. burton eliminated the inner boot's velcro strap at the top of the inner boot. so now the inner boot can loosen itself throughout the day since there's no locking mechanism on the inner laces. the velcro strap is also important b/c it kept the tongue of the inner boot flat and prevented it from moving around. at first the tongue was so bent (like 90 degrees) that it was pinching my shins--ouch! but now that that's over, i find that the tongue has been moving over far to the left after a few runs and has been giving me unbelievable amounts of pain on the outer left side of my left shin (which is my lead foot, since i'm a regular rider). so the pain persists. i don't know what happened, but the burton emerald, which was one my best friend, is now a big pain the
