Description of Alpenbooks Ric Geiman's Garden Guide
The Garden of the Gods' best climbs
Ric Geiman has been climbing in the Garden of the Gods since he moved to Colorado Springs in 1981. His climbing career began in the 70s when he was a student at the University of Indiana: a harrowing ascen to Devil's Tower with his lifelong friend Dan Heidenreich and his older brother Tom confirmed his passion for climbing. Subsequent trips to the Gunks, Seneca Rocks, the Needles, Canyon Lands, Yosemite, and eventually the Garden, sustained his love for climbing. Today, Geiman is a contract coordinator for the Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Department and co-owner of the Sport Climbing Center. Geiman has climbed competitively since 1989 and at one time was ranked 10th by the ASCF. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Cindy and their two children, Ashley and Austin.
